Opt-Out

You will be required to purchase a plan that meets theses minimum requirements:

• Insurance company must be operated and based in the U.S.
• ACA compliant plan
• $3,000 deductible or less (for individuals)
• Unlimited plan maximum

State-specific Medicaid may be accepted upon review.

International students are required to enroll in the KCU plan.

The KCU SHIP meets all of the minimum requirements. Alternatively, you may shop for another plan that meets these requirements.

If you do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must decline or opt-out of coverage by submitting a waiver. You may only opt-out of coverage during the following Waiver Periods:

     Annual & Fall Terms: 07/14/2023 - 08/31/2023

     Spring/Summer Term: 12/01/2023 - 01/31/2024
